Job Requirements

Phisical capacity to perform the inherent requirements of the role including moving, lifting, carrying, loading/unloading various shaped/weight objects regularly. Excellent Verbal Communication skills and interpersonal style. Excellent personal presentation, grooming and hygiene. Good clear command of the English language. Reasonable Knowlegde of local metro areas. Ability to work in a variety of weather. Previous Courier experience.

Job Responsibilities

Perform the duties and requirements of the role in accordance with employment terms and conditions. Maintain a professional contact on the two-way. Assist with a range of operations tasks as required. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the DHL network, service directory, customs, IATA, regulations, vehicle policy and procedures, products, and services so that shipments are processed accurately to adhere to transit times and avoid any clearance delays. Provide accurate and complete paperwork for shipment movement and any financial transactions. Handle all freight with the maximum possible care. Reconcile all non-delivered / non-uplifted shipments and ensure priority is given to these with correct resolution. Ensure that all inbound and outbound shipment are 100% sorted, processed and scanned to comply with the standards and ensure that prompt and accurate data is available to the network. Abide by DHL OHS policies, procedures and training all the times. Ensure forms of mechanical aid provided for manual handling are used to reduce the likelihood of manual check all shipments and identify and shipments which may classify as dangerous goods or are prohibited items and takes the decision not to process them as per regulations and guidelines and advise the Team Leader or Service Centre Manager.
