knowledge Bachelors Degree in Geology . Experience 6 - 8 years experience in Petroleum Geology.
Monitors the operations of assigned geologists on exploration, appraisal, and development wells. Provides technical advice and direction to field geologists to ensure proper performance of duties at the well site. Performs well site geological operations, as required. Plans and coordinates, in conjunction with other geoscientists in the Team the preparation of drilling, logging, and coring programs for exploration, appraisal and development wells. Assists in the formation evaluation and analysis of wells data, including a litho and biostratigraphic description of cuttings and cores. Coordinates and follows up different types of testing for hydrocarbon, mud logging, and electric logging, with frequent field trips to ensure application of approved techniques and assesses areas for improvement. Participates in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents and contract packages for seismic data processing. Participates in the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly geological operations reports. Assists in the compilation and updating of the annual exploration data book for assigned team. Participates in a compilation of reports on prospects after drilling and proposes possible locations for further evaluation. Makes recommendations based on the analysis of exploration well data to carry out special litho-or biostratigraphic studies. Keeps abreast of technological development in the field of petroleum geology. Includes attending conferences, seminars and reviewing technical periodicals. Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
